Support Workers required for Supported Living positions in Sheffield


Pay between £8.50-£12.00


The Support Worker role specialises in providing a range of supported accommodation and supported living services for semi-independent Looked After Children from the age of 16+.

The following position is available on a temporary basis with possibly going perm in the future.

Job Information:

The young people are generally responsible for themselves and your role is to support them and provide them with guidance in accessing and planning for services that are relevant to their needs and desires, such as:

Education

Substance misuse support

Mental health support

Work experience

Training

As part of the young people’s preparation for independence, you would work with young people to support them with building basic life skills and knowledge that they’ll need in order to be able to live fully independently such as:

Applying for housing benefits

Cooking and general household duties

Routines and boundaries

Budgeting and applying or bank accounts

Planning ahead, being prepared and organised

Building and maintaining positive peer relationships

Registering with local health services

Essential skills/needs for the role :

6 months healthcare experience

Current enhanced DBS

In date mandatory training

Experience and knowledge of Safeguarding
