Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire

Full and part time shifts available

Imagine you couldn’t apply for this job. Imagine you couldn’t make the most of your talents. Or day-to-day decisions about your own life. Or even a simple cup of tea. Now imagine you’ve been trained as a Support Worker with the world’s leading epilepsy charity, and that you really can make it all happen for people - and make their day, as well as yours. It might sound like a cliché, but it’s true: we change lives. In a beautiful rural, purpose-built setting that’s home to adults with epilepsy and other needs, we’re proud to make a difference.

If you’re a fast learner, open minded and resilient with bags of energy and enthusiasm, you won’t need experience. After a full induction, you’ll shadow an experienced Support Worker, enjoy ongoing training and gain a recognised Care Certificate and optional Health & Social Care Diploma. In this varied role, you might support a resident to go to college, the shops or a show in London - or handle an emergency. You might help someone shower or even down a ski slope! As a Support Worker, you’ll think on your feet and get stuck in. And with experts to call on and learn from, you’ll feel confident in every situation.

Whilst everyone here has epilepsy, and often a learning disability or mental/physical health needs, our residents are individuals. Some will rely on you to get through the day. For some, you’ll simply make it more fun. It’s about supporting each person to get the most from their life - and yours. As a Support Worker with Epilepsy Society, you’ll gain the expertise and experience to progress your career - either with us or beyond.

Building strong bonds with residents, their families and our wider team, our Support Workers soon start feeling like one of the family. It’s a rare privilege, and an opportunity to achieve your potential - whilst helping others to reach theirs too.

For more specific details of the homes/domiciliary care service where we have vacancies - currently Queen Elizabeth House, Russell House, Micholls House, Croft Cottage and STEPS - please refer to our separate job listings to see which one you think is right for you and where you can also apply directly.

To apply please complete an application form and/or submit your CV, clearly explaining how you meet the person specification for this role.
