Support Worker needed for Relief Shifts in Gloucestershire and surrounding areas
Your new company
You will be working with a wide range of supported housing organisations supporting service users with complex needs towards independence. You will be working with a wide range of service users including homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, young people and ex-offenders. This is a brilliant opportunity for you to build up your current skills and learn new ones in a varied environment.
Your new role
As a support worker you will be working with a wide range of service users with complex needs including mental health, substance misuse, homelessness and domestic violence. As a support worker you will be offered a variety of shifts including weekends, waking nights, sleep overs and days, having the opportunity to work as and when you want. As a support worker you will be working with a wide age range from 18 years and older. You will be providing them with accommodation advice, supporting them with rent, tenancy management and sustaining their tenancy. You will be managing a case load of service users, promoting move on and independence. As a support worker you will engage with your case-load and encourage engagement with their local community to help them move onto independent living.
What you'll need to succeed
To be a successful support worker previous working knowledge in supported housing and working with complex service users is essential. To be successful you must be able to communicate effectively, be confident in lone working and supporting service users towards independence.
