"Partners in Support" is a dynamic not-for-profit organisation supporting people with learning disabilities and Autism to lead the life that they choose.

We are recruiting for Support Workers for a new service in Hemel Hempstead. This is a female only service supporting a lady with learning disabilities who lives in her own home. The person you will be supporting enjoys many varied activities including swimming, walking, going to the theatre, clubbing and shopping.

A key part of the role will be to understand the person you are supporting, which will include providing practical and emotional support.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following personal qualities:

  • Drive and passion
  • Confident and not easily fazed
  • Upbeat
  • Integrity
  • Determination
  • Personal responsibility
  • Able to work flexibly, including weekends, evenings and sleep-ins
  • Driver preferable but not essential

The ability to remain calm when supporting difficult situations is crucial. A key part of the support workers role is to understand the person you are supporting, which will include providing practical and emotional support.

Experience would be an advantage but full training and induction will be given.
