Support Worker, Physical and Learning Disabilities - Ipswich

Pulse Community Healthcare has a rewarding opportunity for a skilled and compassionate support worker in supporting our client. Our male client has physical and learning disabilities, the support worker would need to be proactive in supporting this young man in the home and community.

The daily duties for the successful support worker would include personal care, medication administration, and management of various clinical interventions, assisting in the community and attending various day centres. Specialist training would be provided allowing you to meet the care needs of the client whilst developing your own skills.

The shift pattern for this package is as follows: 09:00am - 21:00pm & 21:00pm - 08:00am Monday to Sunday and is offering pay from £9.12 to £10.12 per hour.

As a Complex Care Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing personal care to the client
  • Administering medication
  • PEG feeding
  • Managing clinical interventions and epilepsy
  • Accessing the community
  • Attending day centres with the client.

The ideal Support Worker will have:

  • A diploma level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
  • A current enhanced DBS on the update service (preferred but not essential)
  • Previous paid experience in Health and Social Care in the UK
  • Good knowledge of safeguarding and person centred care
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good understanding of professional boundaries
  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of wider team.
