Support Worker (Young Adults)

We are looking for a Support Worker (Young Adults) close to the Ferndown area of Dorset. This job is commutable from the Ferndown (24 mins/13.4 miles), Bournemouth (34 mins/21 miles), Poole (37 mins/17.8 miles), Wimborne (14 mins/7.9 miles), Blandford (26mins/16.1 miles) and Salisbury (27 mins/13.5 miles) areas of Dorset and Wiltshire.

What does a Support Worker do?

A Support Worker is both helper and companion to the young adults they support. In the morning you will help them get dressed, encourage them to get washed, and make sure they eat their breakfast. After school or on weekend shifts you’d encourage them to participate in activities and hobbies and help them find what they are passionate about, so they can grow up into the person they want to be.

  • £8.25 per hour without qualifications.
  • £8.75 per hour with NVQ Level 3 - Health & Social Care.
  • Full time hours, 40 hours per week.
  • Day or Night shifts available.
  • Morning shift: 7am - 4:30pm; evening shifts: 3pm - 10pm; night shifts: 9:30pm - 8am.

What experience do I need to be a young adult Support Worker?

It is an advantage if you have experience working/living with young adults or have personal experience of working with people with learning disabilities. You will ideally hold an NVQ level 3 as mentioned above. However, full training is provided so not essential.
