They say neighbours become good friends, and that's why we have 3 services all next door to each other. We support adults who have a learning disability and live within one of these 3 services. The team our friendly, vibrant energetic and fun loving and they want you to become a support worker and join us!
Although all support required is different to each individual the type of support you will provide would be around administering medication, helping with personal care, and offering them to support to live independent and happy lives. Being a support worker isn't just about making day to day life it's about having fun! Fun with this lot could be anything from watching films, going shopping, attending parties or even going volunteering.
Have a look at the additional information attached created by the people we support; this will give you an idea of what the people we support want from you.
Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns, including some sleep in shifts. We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance - Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you meet it.
One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
