Support Worker - Worksop

Posted 7 December 2017 by Mencap Ended

We support 3 ladies who have a learning disability and live in our service in Worksop. We are looking to grow our team of enthusiastic, fun, honest and reliable support workers.

The people we support are in their mid 50's-60's and live an active life. They require prompts for support around personal care, taking medication but more than anything they want to live an independent and happy life. The ladies visit a day centre regularly and enjoy football, knitting and following routines so you'll be involved in this!

Have a look at the additional information attached created by the people we support, this will give you an idea of what the people we support want from you.

Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns, including some sleep in shifts (Payment for sleep ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements). We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance - Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you meet it.

One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.

An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
