Support Worker, Supported Living
Your new company
A Stoke based Social Care provider is currently looking for support workers to provide a vulnerable individual with practical and emotional care, enabling them to have a fulfilled life and gain further independence.
Your new role
You will be supporting this individual in a supported living environment. Your main priority will be to promote independence whilst still assisting the service user in the below areas,
- Encouraging further development in education or employment
- Emotional support in times of distress or upset
- Establishing positive friendships
- Living independently with all skills such as cooking, cleaning, budgeting, finance, hygiene etc
What you'll need to succeed
No formal qualifications are required for this role, however; you will have experience working in a social care environment for at least 6 months in the last 2 years and have check-able references. You will need to be warm, friendly and nurturing. You will also have strong negotiation skills and be able to compromise where appropriate
What you'll get in return
You will have access to your own dedicated consultant, out of hours service and a variety of shift patterns. You will not be charged for your DBS, training or refreshers. You will also have access to our excellent referral scheme. Hours of work can be flexible to suit your circumstances with competitive rates of pay.
