Would you like to finish work each day knowing you have made a difference?
We are looking for a keen, compassionate and caring Support Worker to join our Winchester services where we support a real mix of lovely individuals.
You will be responsible and involved in the everyday life of the people that we support, making sure that they are fully involved when it comes to receiving the support that they both need and want.
Supporting with daily living tasks, finances and medication will be a large part of your role, but that's not all. Being a Support Worker means that you also get to create some fantastic memories and take part in the fun! We have a lot of different interests, hobbies and passions within these services from thespian and theatrical enthusiasts to musicians and even shopaholics (especially when it comes to a good magazine and a bar of chocolate).
The people that we support in these services are all supported in different ways, with some being fairly independent, and others needing their Support Worker to be a little bit more involved. Some will require personal care - it's important that you bare this in mind, and are comfortable with this when making your application.
Have a look at the additional information attached created by the people that we support in Winchester. This will give you an idea of what the people we support want from you.
As a support worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, as you may be required to work a variety of different shifts throughout the week, including mornings (ideal for you early risers!),evenings and sleep-ins (Payment for sleep ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements). The best thing about flexibility? It's a two-way street. While we may require that you work a variety of shifts, we also understand that you'll have your own requirements - have you got commitments on a Thursday? Not to worry, we can factor this in, as well as other requests (provided you give us enough notice) into our rotas.
One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
Please note that this position is based in Winchester.
