Would you like to finish work each day knowing that you have made a difference?
We are looking for a positive, fun and caring Support Worker to work within our Potters Bar residential service where we support six people with a learning disability.
So what does our Potters Bar service look like?
Well, first of all the residence is in a great location with good links to public transport, and is a home away from home with a beautiful garden, surrounded by fields and filled with lovely people! A day in this service might involve a trip to the garden centre, or maybe even the animal centre! What about some shopping on the high street? Or maybe if it's cold and dark outside in which case the people that we support love to play games and arts and crafts, television and films, and a spot of knitting too!
Or on a really eventful day the people that we support love a pantomime, a trip to the beach, or even a music festival!
We have lots of different support needs in this service, and we not only provide the support that people need, but also the support that they want with a real person centered approach. We have wheelchair users within this service and personal care is a requirement - so it's really important that you are comfortable with this. The people that we support are very active in the things that they like to do and would love their Support Worker to support them with these things as well as their everyday endeavours.
We put the people who we support at the heart of what we do. We make sure that everyone is as equally involved with the recruitment process as our very own recruitment team. If you look at the pink box titled "additional information"you'll see some information about some of the people that we support.
Interested in carrying on the conversation?
As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we want to hear from you. This role has a unique set of challenges, but our award winning training will ensure that you are the best Support Worker that you can be, whether you have lots experience or are just starting out in your career.
As a support worker, flexibility is key for both yourself and for the service, You may be required to work a variety of different shifts throughout the week, including mornings and evenings. The best thing about flexibility? It's a two-way street. While we may require that you work a variety of shifts, we also understand that you'll have your own commitments and we will try to factor this into our rotas.
