Do you enjoy spending time gardening? Or doing arts and crafts? If you answer yes then please read on as you'll be a great match for our service!
We support a group of 3 friends, who have a learning disability and live in our supported living service in Ripley. We are looking to grow our team of enthusiastic, fun honest and reliable support workers.
The people we support are aged between 50 to 65 and are very independent and active. They require prompts for support around personal care, taking medication but more than anything they want to live an independent and happy. This group love to do stuff and have very busy social lives. They love to visit day services, running their home and volunteering in the local town.
Have a look at the additional information attached created by the people we support, this will give you an idea of what the people we support want from you.
Supporting someone with their daily life is not a 9-5 job. You will need to be able to work across a range of different days and shift patterns, including some sleep in shifts (Payment for sleep ins is competitive and compliant with National Living Wage requirements). We realise that your quality time is important too, so your rota is prepared well in advance - Got a request, something special going on? Your manager will certainly try to help you meet it.
One of the most amazing things about being a Support Worker is that anyone can do it! As long as you have a positive attitude and want to improve the lives of those with a learning disability, we will support you with progression opportunities throughout your career with us.
An enhanced DBS will be required for each successful candidate (Paid for by Mencap, T&Cs apply)
