BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a Support Worker for an adult`s residential home within Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire looking for candidates that have the values and passion for helping others.

About the role; you will be working with adults of mixed sex who have moderate to severe Learning Difficulties, Autism and Epilepsy and more. Your typical day would include; hand over, supporting the service users get up washed, dressed and get ready for day centre, shopping or activities. You will complete paper work and keep care plans up to date. You will be a Key Worker, or a Link Worker so expect to be responsible for a particular service user including arranging their activities/medication and have everything then need to receive the best possible care. You will assist in picking them up from day centre and providing personal and helping with dinner, then get ready for the evening. This role is very hands on due to the service users needing physical support with personal care and meals to ensure they have the best quality of life possible.

About the ideal candidate; it is not essential that you have experience, but it is essential that you empathise and are compassionate towards the residents of the home and interested in the role for the right reasons. We need candidates that have the right values and understanding of the needs of the service users you`re working with by building a professional relationship and being a friend as well as their carer. If you do not hold any relevant qualifications, you will have to complete the care certificate and be willing to work towards gaining extra qualifications. Drivers are ideal due to the locations of the homes and the driving needed within the roles but will take non drivers.

In return; we have a number of roles that we are recruiting for over 3 different services in the area differing between the needs and ages of the service users and the hours and offered contracts which can be discuss when speaking to the Consultant overseeing these roles. There is full time, part time, days, nights and a mix of days and nights depending on the service that suits you. You will also be offered a whole host of benefits which will be discussed on application. The benefits include; £100 added to your salary for having a qualification, will have a mentor and could possibly become a mentor, length of service salary increase, 6-week induction, care certificate, face to face and E-learning; champion training, equality, hygiene ect, training around LD, MH, Medication and safe guarding, you will be able to gain the QCF.
