If so - REED Social Care have a new full time (37 hours) role at a residential children's home in Sheffield - S9. The role is a temporary role from 26th Feb ongoing until the end of May.
You will be part of the team rolling rota, working a mixture of early and late shifts. This will involve weekday and weekend work. The pay rate varies from £8.72 per hour to £14.82 per hour.
Your roles and responsibilities will include:
Ensuring a firm, caring, consistent, well ordered environment is maintained at all times.
Supervising children and young people before and after the school/college day including meal times and to proactively support/encourage the development of their cooking skills etc.
To actively promote and participate in care planning, developing risk assessments, behaviour management and to attend regular team meetings.
Accompanying children and young people on recreational activities and demonstrating positive role modelling.
Working as part of a team to provide a programme of evening & weekend activities for children and young people and to effectively manage small budgets, in relation to this.
Promoting the social and emotional well-being & development of children and young people and to consistently strive to further develop these skills.
Liaising with other staff, professionals, parents and carers as necessary and maintaining high levels of professionalism at all times.
Undertaking any administrative tasks linked to the care of children and young people.
To maintain a log of all accidents, incidents or physical intervention and to challenge
suspected inappropriate practice according to policies and procedures.
To participate in case reviews where necessary and to provide support and assistance when difficulties arise.
Keeping up to date with the home’s policies and to follow them at all times.
In order to be considered for this role, you must have had at least 6 months of experience within the last 5 years of working within a chlidren's residential setting.

Due to the nature of the role, we require a full 5 past year work referencing, with at least 2 care and support references within this time frame. We will also need to submit all successful applicants to a DBS check, at a cost of £44 (refunded after completion of 100 hours of work), unless you DBS is on the Update Service. You will also have to attend a mandatory 1 day training course at the REED Sheffield office, plus 6 online i-learns.
