So, where will I work?

We have 7 Services in Tameside so depending on you travel arrangements and experience; together we will determine which service is right for you. Each service provides a relaxed and comfortable home for the people we support.

So, what will I be doing?

Your duties may change depending on the service you will be working in. However at Turning Point we all want to achieve the same goal - promoting independence! Some of your duties will involve:

You will be supporting a full range of daily activities including cleaning and cooking, days out, or going away on holiday

You will be providing personal care, manual handling & helping with distributing medication.

You will be developing resident's life skills and personal interests

You will be accessing local community groups, education and employment with residents.

You will be helping residents stay safe and healthy

You will be supporting resident's family

So, what skills and qualities do I need to have?

Again, your level of experience will depend on the service you work in. While some knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs would be beneficial, it isn't essential. However you will be:

Passionate and enthusiastic

Flexible, patient and non-judgemental

Able to complete the physical aspects of the role such as manual handling

Hours: We have Full and Part time hours available. This is a 24 hour service and you will do a mixture of early and late shifts including weekend work and sleep shifts.
