Support work to work with Teenagers and Young Adults in their own properties. This will be on a 2:1 basis (working alongside another worker).

Support Experience is essential, along with experience dealing with behaviours that some might find challenging, this may include swearing, small risk of violence and threats. Depending on clients you may need to be aware of substance misuse, Sex Exploitation, inappropriate relationships, domestic abuse, homeless, volatile behaviour and behaviours that some might find challenging.

Support staff will need to be able to assist in independence skills, e.g. cooking, budgeting, shopping, bill paying. This would mean helping clients to learn these skills, and enabling them to learn how to become independent. Things that staff may need to assist with would be managing tenancy, appropriate relationships, substance misuse.

Staff will need to be able to follow strict guidance on how to work e.g. using the same approach as other staff members. These guidelines will be set out before working with each new client.

Staff should have relevant experiences working within some or all of these areas.

Face to Face interview, DBS Check, References for the past 5 years, and mandatory training will need to be attended. This is due to Client Request and due to the nature of working with vulnerable people.
