Support Worker / Domestic Abuse

£11,000 per annum
Our client’s mission is to improve the quality of life of people and the communities in which they live. Today our client’s role in providing new homes, investing in communities, providing services to their 20,000 customers and supporting local people is more important than ever before.
They are looking to recruit a Support Worker to provide advocacy and support to men from minority communities affected by domestic abuse. This is a great opportunity to really make a difference.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of advocacy and support work with vulnerable people, together with a relevant professional qualification, a current driving licence and use of their own vehicle.
You will have experience of delivering one to one and telephone support, a clear understanding of the nature and impact of domestic abuse and an appreciation of the issues for male victims. You must be able to work as part of a support team, with minimal supervision, be able to organise a busy workload and respond to unplanned demands. You will have excellent negotiation and presentation skills, be IT literate, using databases and Microsoft Office and internet communications.
