Support Services Manager - North Powys

We are looking for a capable and enthusiastic Support Services Manager - Hotel Services to join our Support Services Management Team delivering a wide range of Soft Facilities Management Services in Community Hospitals and Clinics across Montgomeryshire and Radnorshire in rural mid-Wales.

The successful candidate is required to have previous facilities management experience at a senior level within the public sector, particularly with specialist knowledge and previous management experience in Catering and in Housekeeping services, have strong leadership, performance and quality assurance skills and the ability to manage a team.

You will be a capable leader with a strategic outlook, able to build effective working relationships with senior clinicians and other key stakeholders. With excellent interpersonal skills you will understand the clinical environment, the importance of service delivery in ensuring good patient care and will have the ability to empower staff, building enthusiasm and a professional approach across the work environment.

The successful candidate will initially report to the Assistant Director for Support Services, pending a management restructure and will take full operational responsibility for a wide range of Support Services across the north of the county.

Essential skills required include -

Ability to manage soft facilities management services – environmental hygiene & Catering services, Security and Porter services, Pest control, Hospital Laundry, Window Cleaning,

Ability to work collaboratively across departments for the management of, for example, medical gases, medical devices and care of the deceased.

Skills in risk assessment, risk management and a professional understanding of governance, autonomy and accountability.

Leading and managing a team.

Budget management experience and skills.

Project management skills.

The successful candidate can choose to be based either at Newtown Community Hospital, Powys or at Llandrindod Wells Community Hospital, Powys.
