Support Officer or Business Administration Apprenticeship opportunities

Organised crime is one of the most serious threats to the UK. It can devastate communities, ruin lives, and costs the UK taxpayer over £20 billion every year. We lead the fight to disrupt and bring to justice the most serious offenders, safeguard victims and protect the public.
About the role
Organised crime can feel distant from most peoples’ day to day lives, but it affects us all. From the sexual exploitation of children to the smuggling of illegal firearms, cybercrime, human trafficking and modern slavery - serious and organised crime is everywhere. Joining the NCA as a Support Officer, you’ll provide an effective and efficient support service to our operations, corporate and central service functions, programmes and projects, helping us to protect the public from serious and organised crime. From preparing documents to booking rooms and organising events, you’ll prioritise your work, completing it to tight deadlines. No two days are the same here, so every day will bring a new challenge. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a professional, close knit and highly motivated team.
Committed and confident, you’ll have meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work well under pressure in a dynamic environment. Good IT skills are vital so you’ll need to be up to date with Microsoft Office and be able to pick up new systems quickly. An excellent team player, you’ve exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and have a proactive and pragmatic approach to your work. Because crime is 24/7 some roles are required to work shifts and occasionally travel.
Note: The NCA complies with the requirements of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The nature of our work is highly sensitive and our officers have the integrity to match. We apply rigorous standards and all applicants must achieve national security clearance as part of the recruitment process.
About the National Crime Agency
The NCA leads the UK’s fight against serious and organised crime. Our 4,000 officers work around the clock across the UK and overseas to protect the UK. There’s no such thing as a 'typical’ NCA officer. We come from different backgrounds and cultures, speak different languages and have different skills and experiences. Our diversity is one of our greatest strengths. Our officers work in a wide range of roles, from investigations to intelligence, child protection, strategy, communications, facilities and finance. Whatever their role, all of our officers play a vital part in the success of our mission.
