Support Officer Domestic Abuse

About us

Our Domestic Abuse service provides short term housing and tenancy related support to women who have experienced domestic violence and abuse. The service is currently looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and highly motivated Support Officer to join our dynamic team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract/Secondment basis. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced support workers who enjoy a varied role.

About the Role

You will advise on budgeting, welfare and housing benefits, and assisting women in obtaining and resettling into permanent accommodation.

You will manage, develop and maintain a high quality professional service, whilst supporting and enabling clients with practical and emotional support including financial, social, emotional, housing and further education through an outcomes focused support planning process.

About you

You'll have experience of providing support and advice with health and safety issues, managing a tenancy, accessing legal services and claiming welfare benefits. You'll also have a proven track record of providing a comprehensive housing-related support service to women suffering from issues relating to domestic abuse and acting as a key worker for specific service users.

Due to the nature of the role applicants are required to have a patient, caring and sensitive approach.

Due to occupational requirements this role is open to female applicants only and does not contravene The Equality Act 2010 under Schedule 9, Work: Exceptions, Part 1 Occupational Requirements.

You must be able to travel across regions as required.
