About the Team:
The Supply Chain team are responsible for managing and supplying brand new and exciting technology stock across the O2 retail business across the UK. The team manages and is accountable to a number of high profile key accounts, including Apple and Samsung, and managing purchase orders in excess of £1 million. The value of the customer product range amounts to £1 billion.
Reporting to the UK Head of Supply, you are responsible for managing a team of 3 supply chain professionals on a daily basis, monitoring performance against KPI`s, and mentoring / motivating the team. You will manage part of the £1 billion of customer products purchased across the supply chain lifecycle. You will manage a number of high profile key accounts and relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
-Full ownership for a defined set of product suppliers from the ranging decision through to removal from sale. This includes influencing the sales channels, commercial, marketing and devices teams to ensure the right decisions are taken at the right time to achieve Telefonica`s objectives.
-Managing launches and end of life across the sales channels, ensuring all systems and staff communications are accurate and updated in a timely manner.
-Ensure Telefonica-owned stock is kept to a minimum, achieving below both value and days of stock targets each month.
-Ensure minimum obsolescence of stock, proactively notifying the relevant teams of slow moving stock, and driving commercial decisions to reduce it. Coordinate the timely disposal of stock where necessary.
-Ensure suppliers are delivering the best level of service, and build strategic commercial plans with each supplier through the maintenance of a collaborative relationship.
-Leverage commercial relationships to maximise benefits to Telefonica, including but not limited to vendor managed inventory.
-Manage and support your direct reports to deliver their objectives and personal development plans.
-Build a succession plan, and actively encourage opportunities for team members to learn or experience new situations and grow their skills.
-Will be expected to travel to the Slough and Crewe Telefonica sites as required (around 2 - 3 times a month).
Skills & experience:
Prior experience in a procurement or supply planning role
Proven experience in a team management position
A background in a technical or retail-oriented environment
Valid driving licence
