Supply Chain Planner

Reed Procurement and Supply Chain are currently recruiting for a Supply Chain Planner for a leading manufacturing business based near Lancaster.

You will be responsible for managing all aspects of materials flow and to maintain control and accuracy over all goods, inventories, costs, planning, scheduling, to ensure that customer orders are fulfilled on time. In parallel there is a requirement to interface with the R&D team to support NPI and appropriate pre-production manufacture.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• To analyse the Sales orders and creating works orders via the MRP system
• Load multiple manufacturing cell with work, balancing demand & capacity.
• Coordinate and work with quality, engineering, and operations to ensure 100% on-time delivery by establishing and monitoring schedule to proactively identify and address any issues
• Ensure jobs are loaded taking into account the relevant skills available.
• Ensure Production Team Leader understand relevant priorities
• Maintain forecast to keep stock levels as low as possible, while at the same time balancing lead-time to customer
• Load and Maintain MRP system (Syteline)
• Maintain positive working relationships with Sales/customer service. Provide product lead time and costs to Sales team.
• Work with Development team on New Product Introduction (NPI) including creation of new part number and codes.
• Take proactive steps to reduce inventory and increase NITO
• Issuing of stock lists to sales on a frequent basis.
• Support implementation and maintenance of QA systems & procedures to meet required quality standards.
• Achieve financial objectives by working with management to forecast inventory levels, analyse variances and initiate corrective action
• Filing, maintaining and archiving records of Purchase Orders, Correspondence and Acknowledgments.
• Active participation in Stock take/cycle counts
• Liaising with Buyer for costs of purchased items.
• Place purchase orders via the Syteline system
• Work with Buyer to negotiate best prices on procured items

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
• A background in purchasing would be highly advantageous.
• Experience of Planning within multiple cell manufacturing environments.
• Proficient working with an MRP system
• Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
• Intermediate level Excel and Word.
• Strong problem solving skills, resolution skills, data analysis and multi-tasking skills
• Ability to interact with colleagues and suppliers in a professional manner
• Strong presentation and reporting skills
