JOB - Supply Chain Manager

LOCATION - Near Cambridge

TERM - Permanent

RATE/SALARY - £40-45,000 per annum

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Supply Chain Manager within a leading manufacturing company based near Cambridge. My client specialises in designing and manufacturing scientific equipment.

The Supply Chain Manager is required to have the following;

  • Minimum of 2 years in a similar Management role
  • Excellent working knowledge of ERP/ MRP
  • Proven statistical, analytical and decision-making skills
  • Production Processing -- Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximising the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of demand planning
  • Advanced design and working knowledge of S&OP
  • Strong MS Office knowledge
  • Lean manufacturing Experience
  • Knowing when and how to delegate tasks
  • Capability of working as a team member
  • Able to defuse conflicts among subordinates or peers
  • Ability to work well with all levels of management and support staff

The Supply Chain Manager role will involve:

  • Taking responsibility for supply chain related organisational operational and financial targets
  • Oversee all aspects of inventory management for raw materials to finished goods
  • Ensuring site compliance to global and local purchasing policies and legislative requirements
  • Leading development and execution of strategic cost savings initiatives
  • Leading and negotiate sourcing projects as they relate to the assigned site
  • Evaluating and advising on the development of the supply chain function, reporting monthly and analysing the effectiveness of the supply chain function
  • Managing of suppliers to support 100% availability and control of inventory levels and space requirements
  • Ensuring maximum effectiveness and efficiency of the ERP system
  • Monitoring forecasts and quotas to evaluate and identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities
  • Analysing inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste and optimise customer service
  • Developing procedures for coordination of supply chain management with other functional areas, ensuring the appropriate level of buy-in from those functions.
  • Participating in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow.
  • Taking the lead in the management of materials sourcing for new product introduction and ECO's
  • Taking the lead in the identification and selection of suppliers
