Supply Chain Manager

Our client is a global consultancy and construction firm headquartered in London.

They currently have an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Manager to be based out of their London office.

Job Summary:

Working closely with the supply chain director the supply chain manager is responsible for assisting with the strategic development of SCM and deputising for the SCM director.

The supply chain manager is responsible for managing all supply chain issues across a range of packages. The role also includes providing supply chain management support to a number of the companies construction sectors.

The management of these two functions includes prequalification assessment, analysis, reporting, data verification, financial risk management

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic development
    • Work with the SCM director to develop the strategy and business plan for SCM
    • Identify and implement new ways of improving delivery of SCM
    • Deputise for SCM Director, production of board and other reports and attend board and other key meetings
  • Package Supply Chain Management
    • Accountable for supply chain management of all companies across a range of packages
    • Capturing supply chain intelligence and providing package supply chain expertise
    • Prequalification assessment of all companies within those packages
    • Company data verification and updating
    • Package reporting
    • Package contractor financial monitoring
    • Liaising with and supporting package specialists

Producing SCM Advisory notes

    • Dealing with general supply chain enquiries
    • Review new contractors
  • Sector Supply Chain Management:
  • Wider Business Support:
    • Managing and updating supply chain directories with business units
    • Monthly Sector reports for Business Unit Directors
    • Managing data received from projects
    • Managing Master Bid List reviews
    • Managing designated corporate agreements
      • Reviews
      • Reporting
      • Bidding
    • PQQ Responses
    • Bid Responses
    • Managing SCM representation on Audits
    • Preparation of Board Reports
    • Administration and Management of Financial monitoring of the supply chain (Experian/Dun & Bradstreet information)
    • Developing and administering performance measurement of supply chain
    • System and process review and improvement
    • Managing SCM quality systems, information security etc
    • Representing SCM at meeting, inductions etc
  • SCM Responsibilities/Deliverables:
  • Deputise for SCM Director, producing reports and attending int and ext meetings
  • Identify and implement new ways of working for the team
  • Lead team meetings
  • Ensure all currently used companies prequalification are maintained up to date
  • Deliver PQQ and bid responses on behalf of SCM and manage the process
  • Deliver effective internal communication of SCM and its processes
  • Ensure all data is up to date and accurate

Deliver SCM statistical analysis and reporting

  • Develop/deliver efficiencies in PPE & Consumables corporate agreements

Reviewing and improving current SCM Practices and Procedures

Person Specification:

Technical Knowledge and Skills:

(E.g. knowledge of relevant legislation, use of specific software such as MS Project

  • Understand current industry best practice
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain Management
  • Ability to Integrate with the team
  • Work under pressure and respond flexibly to the demands of the business

Excellent people management and communication skills

Industry experience

Project or Programme management experience


CIPS or other construction related professional qualification i.e. RICS, CIOB
