Reporting to the OneCall Head of Supply Chain, the Contracts Manager will play a crucial role in managing the Supply Chain for a Strategic Key Account. We are seeking a Contracts Manager to lead and manage a variety of key supplier contracts, which provide a number of critical services for this Key Account.

The Contracts Manager will ensure that commercially driven contracts are in place, whilst at the same time managing the day to day relationships of a number of suppliers. They will play a key role in the OneCall operation and will contribute to its continued growth.

This fantastic opportunity will require on-boarding additional suppliers to add to our PSL, reviewing pricing along with negotiation, identifying supply chain opportunities, service level issues, compliance, research and relationship management.

HSS OneCall is our specialist sourcing division, which enables us to supply equipment outside of our group fleet. HSS OneCall works with a national network of over 400 approved hire partners, carefully selected for quality and safety to meet the specialist needs of our customers. We make sure that all of our partners adhere to the HSS values of safety, value, availability and support whilst simultaneously offering our competitive prices.

Other responsibilities include:

Extending our supply chain:

  • Identifying and bringing on board new suppliers for new and existing products

  • Focus on smaller regional suppliers in addition to national suppliers

  • Identifying opportunities to convert customers into suppliers

    On-boarding of new suppliers

  • Hire rates, transport rates and other charges

  • Terms & Conditions

  • Payment terms

  • SLA and KPI setting

    Supplier communications:

  • Ad-hoc meetings/discussion around specific contract and service issues

  • Liaison with suppliers around invoicing and payments

  • Supporting HSS Sales with supplier identification and on-boarding

  • A go-to person, supporting the OneCall team for all things relating to supply chain

    Personal Characteristics

    You are flexible and hold a positive attitude to life and work, having the desire to develop your career and those of your colleagues. Possessing some or all of the following characteristics is desirable:

  • Previous experience in a Contract Management, Supplier or Procurement role

  • Experience in the Hire industry would be preferable

  • Tough negotiator, with a proven track record and formal training and qualifications

  • Willingness to make a difference and take responsibility for the development of the OneCall Supply Chain

  • Can-doer and problem-solver showing stewardship across HSS Group

  • Financially and commercially astute

  • Highly organised individual and with a well-structured approach

  • Team player, relationship-builder and proven communicator

  • Strong credibility with suppliers

  • Numerate and experience of Microsoft Office applications

  • Full driving license required

    You will live within a comfortable commute of our Manchester Head Office in Old Trafford where you will be based. Regular travel, with occasional overnight stays will be a requirement of the role.
