As part of a succession plan we are now seeking an experienced Subsea Design Engineer.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will work predominantly in our satellite Engineering office based in Fife with two senior Design Engineers.

Your primary role will be in the production of front end engineering documentation. Liaising with customers in order to produce conceptual designs, producing STEP files using Solidworks and completing technical reviews are also a major part of the role. Use of Autocad will be required. You will also be expected to use our internal 'production system' to create new parts and Bill of Materials

With the necessary experience and training the successful candidate will develop into the role of senior design engineer, where by becoming responsible for the design and verification of new subsea products.Recognising and preventing possible valve failures at the theoretical stage of the design using engineering tools such as FEA and FMECA will also form part of this role.

This role requires a highly dynamic and self-motivated individual, who is driven to learn, develop and succeed. A good analytical understanding of engineering principals needs to be accompanied by a logical and practical approach.


  • Professional qualification in Mechanical Engineering;
  • Experience with Solidworks and Autocad - essential
  • Experience with FEA - desirable but not essential
  • Experience in FMECA and FMEDA techniques - desirable but not essential
