Student Wellbeing Assistant - Swindon

Do you want an opportunity to gain experience in an SEMH setting and make a positive difference to students facing mental health challenges?

A fantastic school in Swindon are seeking a Student Wellbeing Assistant to welcome on board after this October half term. The school are looking for someone to join the team and aid them in providing tailored education to students with additional needs relating to developmental trauma and mental illness. The school have an established team of professional therapists, psychologists and SEN specialists on-site that work with classroom assistants to ensure the students receive individual learning support that they do not receive in mainstream education.

As a Student Wellbeing Assistant, the role will operate on a 1-1 basis helping students tackle challenges they face while accessing education. The pupils at this school face barriers and struggles regarding developmental trauma and different social, emotional and mental health needs. As a Student Wellbeing Assistant, you will be responsible for identifying triggers and iomplementing different therapeutic techniques. Your main goal will be promoting the students' mental well-being. Previous experience supporting young children on a professional or informal setting OR degree level education (Psychology, Criminology, Sociology or relevant subjects) would be desirable but not mandatory.
