They are currently looking for a Structural Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The Role

  • Responsible for preparation of estimates & tenders for demolition, safe dismantling of Projects. Ensuring Contracts are carried out to Clients specification, Satisfaction and structurally safe
  • Conduct Specific Project Management of Contracts at a large scale- analyse configuration of structures
  • Calculate the pressures, stresses & strains of structures to ensure safe demolition
  • Consider the strength of various materials within structures
  • Liaise with all various professional bodies
  • Examine structures at risk of collapse and advise safe demolition
  • Make Drawings, specifications of structures to assist the management team
  • Apply knowledge of the forces that act on various structures
  • Development & design of method statements, risk assessment, H & S documentation.
  • Scheduling workloads for demolition supervisors & operatives
  • Liaise with Directors, H &S Manager and site supervisors
  • Follow correct procedures in reporting accidents, injuries & dangerous occurrences
  • Monitor costs against & budgets, incorporating equipment, labour, materials & sub-contractors.
  • Work with Management team to ensure monthly valuations are updated
  • Negotiation with sub-contractors & third-party suppliers as necessary
  • Inform the HR Department of any issues & concerns
  • Managing work load, incorporation site inspections & safety audits in association with the H & S Manager
  • Develop Programmes for Projects & implementation on site
  • Attend Pre-Tender Meetings
  • Liaise with Directors, H &S Manager and site supervisors

The Person

  • MSc (Hons) Level in structural engineering
  • Must be chartered status
  • Good Planning and organising skills
  • Good Computer Literacy skills
  • An understanding of Health & Safety at work
  • Good team member
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Good Analytical Skills
  • Diagrammatic Skills
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety on Site
  • Risk Assessment Management, Client Liaison,
  • Resource management, Commercial & Contractual Awareness
  • Carry out duties in a safe and efficient manner
  • Observe & report progress and any H&S issues
  • Follow correct procedures in reporting accidents
