An opportunity for a structural engineer with expertise in building structures and an enquiring and analytical mind. Our client is a highly respected consultancy with many decades of expertise in the civil and structural sector, this position is within their forensic engineering division. You will be involved in investigating failures, defects and the integrity of buildings, facades and civil engineering structures. This will be followed by the presentation of your findings and assessments and your recommendations for potential remedial measures. The role combines the practical with the theoretical and offers exceptional breadth. The structures you will work on will include well known heritage buildings, high and low rise structures covering a variety of construction types and eras, bridges, industrial structures and more. Your workload will have an emphasis on buildings in London but will also include national and international building and civil engineering structures, some travel will be required. Your background should include an understanding of steel, concrete and masonry. You will need a degree in civil or structural engineering from a reputable university and you should be either chartered / incorporated or nearing this status with the ICE, IStructE or a similar body.
