Job Purpose:
To provide technical underwriting capability to the Strategic Partnerships team, delivering underwriting services to both client companies and MGAs in line with the company's underwriting philosophy and technical standard.

§CAR and PL annual and project insurances
§Machinery breakdown and business interruption insurances
§Machinery inherent defects insurance
§Computer & Cyber insurance

Key Responsibilities:
·Deliver high quality underwriting services to the Strategic Partnership Team
·Achieve target loss ratios through high quality portfolio management and pricing
·Obtain growth and new business against company's insurance product lines in line with the Strategic Partnership Team's target
·Provide input to training and development programmes developed by Underwriting Strategy and Standards
·Large risk underwriting and referrals from Strategic Partners
·Analysis of the Strategic Partnerships account, it's segments and coverages with a view to making recommendations to refine / modify pricing
·Pricing of new portfolios in respect of all company's Embedded products
·Referral point for Delegated Authority business
·Involvement in the signing off of Insurer / MGA wordings and the associated material (key facts, summaries of cover)
·Drafting of contractual documentation e.g. TOBA's Treaties, Binding Authorities and Underwriting and Procedure manuals
·Work with your Senior Underwriter and wider team in delivering the team and department's performance goals
·On the job training for CSC Strategic Partnership Team members where required
·Presentations to Strategic Partners to support Partnership Managers where required
·Ensure company service standards are met and exceeded
·Ensure company compliance and control systems are adhered to
·Assist the Strategic Partnerships Underwriting Manager in completion of audits / business reviews
·Assist the Commercial Operations Manager with the on-boarding of Client Companies and MGAs

Key Skills and Experience
Essential
·Excellent technical underwriting experience of engineering lines or property classes
·Statistical analysis via excellence in Excel
·Very good knowledge of market with strong business relationships
·Pragmatic decision maker with analytical and reasoning skills
·Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
·Collaboration and teamwork
·Problem solving
·Excellent written and verbal communication
·A sound knowledge and understanding of Policy Wordings and Contractual Documentation, including from a Legal and Compliance perspective

Desirable
·Strong trading capability - commercial awareness, negotiation and influencing skills, ability to build strong relationships with Client Companies and also with key company office staff
·Strong level of technical underwriting expertise gained in relevant insurance environment
·Market underwriting presence

Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
