Your new role
You will hold responsibility for a annual spend of £3.5 million+ working with a team responsible for direct purchasing requirements for the business.
Responsible for all procurement and supply chain activities within the division including key areas :
Supplier management and development in line with the locations metric requirements
Day sales inventory management and control PPI management and reduction initiatives
Deflation plan forecast and implementation
Commodity leader for individual item commodity groups
New Product Development support
Preparation of all quotations and cost analysis activities within the value stream
Maintenance of all procurement functions within the locations ERP system
Procurement support for engineering and BOM changes
Liaising with tactical procurement and quality assurance departments to ensure supplier delivery and performance levels are maintained
Key areas of accountability include:
Effective Supplier development - to ensure we have proactive and receptive supply base to ensure it can support the business requirements
Inventory management - to ensure inventory levels are maintained to ensure premium customer service avoiding excess and obsolete stock
Material cost control - to ensure cost is managed in line with metric requirements
Deflation - To ensure deflation plan is implemented in line with metric requirements
Commodity management-to ensure individual commodities are managed including full risk analysis
Maintenance of JDE system - to ensure effective system control and management
What you'll need to succeed
You should have excellent communication skills and work closely to develop relations internally with quality, tactical procurement,sale & marketing, engineering and manufacturing.
Excellent negotiation skills, ability to organise, metric driven, analytical nature, systems orientated and engineering competent and focused
Personal Specification to include:
Previously worked within a medium to high volume manufacturing environment.
Requires excellent communication & negotiation skills.
Be a team player whilst also having the drive and ability to work on their own.
MCIPS qualification or working towards.
Understanding of quality system ISO 9001:2000
Current driving license
Expected travel approximately 30% UK Europe and at times globally
