Salary: Up to £24K depending on experience
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLE:
Our client is recruiting for a Stores Operative to join their team on a full time, permanent basis. This is a diverse role looking after Stores as well as being customer facing, dealing with suppliers and couriers. The successful candidate would benefit from having an engineering background or having a strong understanding of stores and stock control processes.
This role will offer in return plenty of training & development opportunities and progression within the team.
*Assist in identification of store users' requirements and, where possible, issue these from stock
*Maintain concise and current stock records by accurately updating systems and, where required, written records with issue and receipt information
*Perform and record any required stock checks promptly and accurately
*Liaise with team members and management with regards customers' comments, stock availability and overdue/outstanding orders and, where appropriate, provide feedback to store users
*Contribute to site operational efficiency by identifying potential improvements to customer processes
*You are responsible for your health and safety and have a duty of care for others around you within your working environment.
*Establish, maintain and develop effective working relationships, both with store users and internal team Where required, maintain inventory control data within the site systems
*Where required, ensure timely replenishment of customer stock
*Promptly load enquiries and sales orders onto the systems adhering to acceptable margin levels, savings achievement and customer delivery requirements
*Promptly load purchase orders onto the systems utilising established preferred sources of supply where possible
*Expedite outstanding/overdue materials, ensuring delivery agreements are met and communicating any variations to the customer
*Assist in identification, sourcing of and commercial negotiations for parts and equipment to meet customer requirements
*Contribute to operational effectiveness and planning through the provision of information, feedback and data to site management in support of customer reports and Key Performance Indicators
QUALIFICATIONS, SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
*Specific technical, specialised or professional know-how needed
Knowledge of Industrial Consumables / MRO market and products and their applications
*Knowledge and level of proficiency in the use of IT software packages required
Proficient user of windows based programmes. Experience of fully integrated system based sales order processing and stock management systems.
*Proficiency in the use of any specialised equipment
Appropriate material handling equipment to the Site operation including Fork Lift Trucks, Pallet Handling, Barrows etc
