The Procurement / Area Stores Department are looking to recruit enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our stores team. We are a small team, but one that has a huge role to play across the Board and we are looking for someone new to join our team as it strives to deliver the best possible service to all of our customers.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team assisting in the operations of the Store which is the central receipt and distribution point within NHS Highland. Activities will include a range of clerical, customer service and warehousing duties relating to the processing of requests, receipting, issuing, storage, dispatching and distribution of goods.

Previous recent experience in a stores / goods handling / ward product management environment is essential as is a reasonable level of general physical fitness. Candidates with experience in a busy office / customer service environment with knowledge and experience of clerical tasks is also desirable. The post involves carrying out frequent moving and handling of often heavy loads and it is desirable that candidates have familiarity with equipment such as pallet trucks, although full training in the use of moving and handling equipment will be provided.

You will be expected to have a good standard of basic education, particularly literacy and numeracy, posses the ability to work on a computer and be familiar with the use of Microsoft Office applications and email.

Excellent communications skills will be required, as will a pleasant and helpful attitude. Candidates should be able to work to assigned tasks without constant supervision and will require a basic understanding of stock control principles. You must be willing to work in a flexible manner, accepting that not every day will be the same as the last. Area stores is a customer focussed team which has to be responsive to it's customers needs first and this is best demonstrated by the attitude and approach of our staff.
