ABOUT THE ROLE
The Stock Planning Analytics Team is part of the Academic Stock Planning Department within the Academic Division of OUP. The team provides operational business support for the Stock Planning teams across the Academic Division (UK, US, India and Canada) through data analysis, business process analysis, change management support, systems expertise and regular reporting. The team facilitates the Stock Planning Continuous Improvement programme, and provides analytical support for projects both within the department as well as in cross-functional and cross-Divisional projects.
You will be working within a small team where a flexible approach towards workload is essential.
- Coordinating and facilitating the department’s escalation process and Continuous Improvement programme, assisting the teams to manage change
- Provide operational business support through regular reporting of KPIs and other performance indicators
- Development of analytical reports and other ad hoc analysis to support change projects
- Expertise in the divisional operational systems (ABC, SAP, BW, SPARTa) in each Academic location
- Facilitating training cross-functionally within the wider Finance team
We are looking for an efficient and enthusiastic data analyst who is comfortable leading and facilitating meetings. The position requires excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and some knowledge of relational databases, though additional training will be provided. You will also require an aptitude for learning new systems and gaining an understanding of business processes. It is essential that applicants are meticulous and can perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy and speed. The successful candidate will possess confident communication skills, a positive attitude, and ability to prioritise their own workloads. OUP and/or SAP experience is an advantage, but not essential as training will be provided. Previous experience in a position where demand planning and/or digital production has played a key role in its cores areas would be an advantage.
- High level of numeracy and great attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills, also Visual Basic, Access and Monarch
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex data, and communication findings in a variety of formats
- Project and meeting facilitation skills, business paper and report writing expertise
