Our client is an innovative, award winning and highly respected national retail group with stores all over the UK, who have asked Strive to recruit a Stock Control Manager to be based at their site in Harlow. Reporting into Senior Management you will be expected to plan & manage the efficient receipt, storage and movement of stock within the centre, including capacity reporting, operational layout efficiency, process improvement, wastage and stock level accuracy.


  • Ensure number and size of locations are efficient for current stock profile, maximising use of space while aiding efficient handling of over 50,000 SKU’s
  • Continually monitor all stock control processes in store
  • To be responsible for overseeing all stock management processes across all departments
  • Ensure the safe and compliant storage and replenishment of products
  • Plan appropriate locations and allocation of space to new products before receipt
  • Pick face planning to aid efficient picking & replenishment
  • Ensure stock movements are minimised, systematically controlled and accurately recorded
  • Adherence to internal KPI’s
  • Ensure SOP’s available & up to date for all stock control processes
  • Analyse future space, number of locations & storage requirements in line with business growth / objectives
  • Continual assessment of the warehouse layout to ensure the most efficient flow of stock from goods in to shelf replenishment
  • Continuous Improvement of stock control processes and coaching to ensure all staff and managers are conversant will all systems and processes
  • Mentoring & Coaching to ensure succession planning


  • Strong excel skills (intermediate to advanced)
  • A practical hands on approach
  • Experience of managing stock within a retail environment
  • Strong numeracy & analytical skills
  • A logical approach to problem resolution
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with different levels of the organisation
  • Must be flexible and adaptable
  • A team player
