Job Title: Steel Fabricator/Welder

Location: West Thurrock, RM20

Salary: Competitive (Dependent on Experience)

Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 16:00

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Steel Fabricator/Welder to join a busy workshop team. This role involves producing high-quality steel components for a variety of projects, ensuring precision and adherence to safety standards. You’ll work with technical drawings and fabrication plans to deliver accurate and durable assemblies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
  • Cut, bend, and shape steel using appropriate tools and machinery.
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding to assemble components.
  • Operate cranes, forklifts, and other handling equipment safely.
  • Carry out finishing tasks such as grinding and drilling to meet quality standards.
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with workshop and site teams to meet deadlines.
  • Maintain equipment and follow health and safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Fabrication and Welding (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience in steel fabrication or welding within a workshop or construction environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Skilled in MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding techniques.
  • Familiarity with fabrication tools and machinery
