An exciting opportunity has arisen for band 5 Staff Nurses to work with adults with learning disabilities within the Durham and Darlington area. The post requires the successful candidates to work in the adult learning disabilities inpatient assessment and treatment unit at Lanchester Road Hospital, Durham, there may also be opportunity to work flexibly across
You will be expected to demonstrate knowledge of issues relating to Transforming Care Agenda, risk assessment, Positive behavior support, autism and physical and mental well-being.
Working within a person centred values based, identifying strategies and plans for future care, maximising individual's strengths and minimising the impact of their needs on their daily lives.
You will need excellent communication skills and be calm, confident and resilient in your approach. You will need to be able to form therapeutic relationships with people with learning disabilities and mental health needs. You will be joining a team of highly skilled and committed individuals and will become part of the Multi-disciplinary team.
