Staff nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Band 5 Registered Nurses to join the team on Ward E15.

Ward E15 is a 28 bedded surgical unit caring for patients with a variety of Hepatobiliary disorders such as complex benign disease (of pancreas, liver and gallstone disease) and Hepatobiliary cancer (patients from other specialties such as colorectal, gastroenterology and vascular can also be admitted to E15). We are a referring center for the East Midlands for patients with complex HPB conditions and major surgical resections. The ward is a friendly and supportive place to work.

Patients give good feedback, commenting on the caring attitude, excellent care and how hard the nurses work to give the patients the best experience they can.

Working on E15 will give you the opportunity to develop your skills around pre and post-operative care, patient with complex wounds, opportunity to manage patient with differing methods of pain management and caring for patients following transfer from Critical Care.

The team works closely with specialist nurses like Acute Pain Team, Critical Care Outreach Team, Hepatobiliary nurse specialist and stoma nurses.

We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, highly motivated and willing to expand their knowledge and practical skills in the care of patients with Hepatobiliary conditions. You should be able to demonstrate a compassionate and sensitive nature to individuals who have undergone surgery that could lead them to recovery. You should be responsive to patient feedback, are keen to innovate for improved patient experience, showing an ability to work alongside the multidisciplinary team.

You will be offered a period of preceptorship and access support with practice development team within the division.

E15 has a dedicated clinical educator that will support you in your learning needs.
