Please report to Lecture Theatre / Education Theatre on arrival.

Please note that this post closes at noon on 27th April

The Critical Care Unit in Inverclyde Royal Hospital is a combined ward & service with a mix of intensive care, high dependency and coronary care beds. This Unit is unique to NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) in that all three specialities are inclusive within the one ward providing a very dynamic clinical environment. All members of the nursing team participate in a fully rotational programme allowing them to gain skills and knowledge acquisition within all these units.

You will be part of a team delivering care from admission to discharge and gain skills in recognition and management of the deteriorating adult and respond timely to patient level of care requirements. You will be required to tailor your approach to a broad range of individuals and circumstances to meet the patients needs throughout their episodes of care.

The Unit is looking for experienced nurses who are currently registered with the NMC who will work in a large busy and challenging nursing and multi-professional team to ensure a high standard of care is delivered for the critically ill patient with one or more organ failure requiring organ support, specialist care pathways and enhanced care provision.

As a service and with the collaboration of our existing team members and practice educator resource we will support you to continually develop and to experience the exciting opportunities we have to offer.

You may also need to occasionally engage in multi-site working within NHSGGC in order to achieve the needs of the service. Please outline in your statement in support of your application how your experience matches the role and why you are interested in the post.

The format this day will be a short presentation about the service followed by an opportunity to talk to critical care staff and receive an informal visit to the ward.
Interviews will be held throughout the day directly after the presentation and ward visits.

If you do not hold current full registration with the NMC you will not be considered for interview on the day.

Informal visits to the wards prior to the open day or and further information are welcome and can be arranged by telephoning Paul Hendry (Senior Charge Nurse) on.

This post requires membership of Disclosure Scotland's PVG Scheme. This post closes on 27th April 2018.
