Role
As the Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the performance and availability of our client's range of SQL databases. You will work closely with the Architectural team to ensure that the database is robust and working to an optimum level. Day to day, you will be responsible for a range of tasks, including backup, validation and troubleshooting. You will identify and manage problems and fix issues to ensure a long term solution. In addition to this, you will also have the opportunity to recommend and suggest the future of the database and what tools will be used next. You will support database practice and drive this across the business.

Requirements
• Excellent understanding of SQL Server, including load and performance testing, ETL, log shipping and replication.
• Support a high level of maintenance, monitoring and optimisation.
• Experience with SAN and data storage.
• A knowledge or interest in other database technologies such as Postgres, MYSQL, NOSQL, and cloud based.
• Good working knowledge of data security and protection.
