Sports Network Co-ordinator - Prevention and Wellbeing Job description 30 hours a weekTemporary for up to 6 months Bridgend County Borough Council is seeking to recruit a Sports Network Co-ordinator to work within the Active Young People Department. This position will support the delivery and development of activities in both school and community settings, ensuring that there is continuity of participation and the development of structures and partnerships to achieve this. The Sports Network Co-ordinator will ensure school and community physical activity and wellbeing programmes achieve their agreed targets with external providers and that programmes are inclusive. They will develop effective partnerships with third sector partners, clubs and associations and grow membership via school to community initiatives. They will need to deliver internal and external training programmes to both young people and professionals and also support professionals in a mentoring role. Applicants should be able to display skills, experience and qualifications within sport or youth work or a combination of these themes. Suitable candidates will have experience of supervising groups of young people.Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees. Applicants should note that a criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) will be necessary for the successful applicant.
