An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead a dynamic workforce within the 24 hour Multi-disciplinary Specimen reception departments of Liverpool Clinical Laboratories. Working together with the team within LCL you will contribute to the provision and further development of this high quality service provided to local Trusts and beyond.
This is a unique opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to manage a vital and busy department dedicated to providing the highest quality, patient centred service across all disciplines within LCL. The post will initially be based at the Aintree site where you will report directly to a LCL General Manager
You will be responsible for the day to day management of the multi disciplinary specimen reception team. You will prioritise work and manage a challenging workload, liaise with both internal and external users to ensure accurate and timely service delivery. You will be able to work on your own initiative demonstrating good interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills. There is a requirement for a high degree of written and technical accuracy. You will write, review and implement standard operating procedures, maintain quality assurance standards and train all grades of staff. You will be directly involved in service development and modernisation. You will have HR responsibilities appropriate to your role. You will be directly involved with appropriate responsibilities for achieving and maintaining laboratory standards such as ISO:15189.
LCL is fully UKAS accredited and is also accredited by the HCPC/IBMS as a training laboratory.
