Specifications Technologist

Main Functions of the Job
To provide the business and its customers with factory, internal raw material and customer specifications.

Responsibilities
• Gathering information from Cross functional departments to enable completion of specifications
• Creation of ingredient declarations and nutritional calculations
• Completing the customer specifications for upload to relevant systems
• Presenting specification information to relevant customers
• Liaison with Central legal team to enable accuracy of information
• Issue of all factory product specifications from systems support to production, planning and relevant management
• Completion and issuing of all internal specifications
• To collate information from customer KPI’s and generate reports per period
• Complete customer questionnaires relating to product
• Technical Artwork approval- legal compliance
• Respond to customer queries
• Completions of factory documentation when required
• To perform any reasonable task required by management
• Deputise for departmental team members when required
• To adhere to the group Health and Safety policy, following all company policies and procedures that have been put in place to ensure your welfare and that of others. Being mindful that the Health, Safety and Wellbeing at work is everyone’s responsibility
• To Identify and display a positive attitude towards change and continuous improvement within your area of responsibility. Assist others in the implementation of change and provide feedback for improvement for the processes in which you are involved.

Qualifications/Experience Required
• Experience of working within a technical department
• Knowledge of Food Hygiene, HACCP and BRC Standards
• Communication and interpersonal skills through cross - functional teams and departments
• Initiative, self-motivated, assertive, tenacious, well organised, with influencing skills
• Team worker
• Good Attention to detail
• Customer focussed approach
• Problem solving and decision making skills
• Good Working knowledge of Excel / Word / Email
• Food Legislation advantageous
• Working knowledge Power Point & Internet
• Previous experience in a similar role.
