We arerecruiting for our well established world class Forensic Autism Psychiatric Service to meet the clinical needs of adults with autism who enact serious violent crime. The heart of our service is our multidisciplinary team of dedicated specialist clinicians that integrates knowledge and skills for autism, psychiatry and forensics to provide outstanding care and treatment for our patients. Our research interests mirror this and we actively encourage our team members to pursue research interests at the intersection of autism and forensic psychiatry to improve our clinical outcomes. Your research interests may build upon on our current national and international collaborations.

The Role

We are currently looking to appoint a Specialty Doctor, who can work in our ASD Service to support the current medical and RC team. We are looking for someone who can share their innovative ideas of delivering mental health care to the best outcomes.

We welcome applications from high calibre candidates who can bring relevant skills to any areas of the complex and personalised casework that we undertake. With solid links to the Regional Approval Panel, we have successfully supported a number of our speciality doctors progress to Approved Clinician status and provide a large range of CPD activities, and opportunities for assessments, research, audits etc.

This is an exciting time within St Andrews for someone to help and drive the delivery of value based outcomes. We are looking for a speciality doctor who can be a part of this unique opportunity to shape our future services.

Due to the amount of liaison involved with the general hospital and external parties, you will be a strong & effective communicator. MRC Psych is preferable (although not essential) & membership with the GMC will be required. Further career progression in terms of Section 12(2) approval, Approved Clinician status, will be encouraged and supported.
