We are looking for an enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to join the inpatient acute team at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital. The successful candidate will have specialist clinical knowledge / skills in dysphagia and communication and be passionate about providing patient-centred care and partaking in service development. Videofluoroscopy and tracheostomy experience is desirable but competencies and training will be provided where needed.
The successful candidate will be providing dysphagia and communication therapy to patients with a wide range of clinical diagnoses. The role is based on the acute wards, providing care to patients with respiratory, surgical and critical care needs. Working closely with senior members of the team, the development of the SLT role in ITU will be a primary focus of this position. The planned merger with Poole Hospital will provide future opportunities with head and neck, tracheostomy, voice, acquired brain injury and oncology patients. This post provides excellent opportunities for on-going personal and professional development with joint teaching and shadowing opportunities.

Due to our planned merger with Poole Hospital later this year there may be opportunity for exposure to other specialist clinical areas such as ENT/voice, head and neck oncology and acquired brain injury with joint shadowing and professional development opportunities.
