Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

We are looking for an experienced motivated and enthusiastic Speech and Language Therapist to work within the South Adult Speech and Language Therapy Team delivering a service to Adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders within rehabilitation at Biggart Hospital and South Ayrshire Community settings. This post is funded by Integrated Care Funding. You will be expected to work alongside the Community Rehabilitation Team based at Biggart Hospital.

You will be expected to work autonomously to provide specialist assessment diagnosis and treatment/management across a complex range of conditions for inpatients outpatients and patients within community settings.

You will have excellent written and oral communication skills with a proven ability to communicate effectively and work constructively within a multidisciplinary and multi agency environment.

You will be required to supervise students and may be required to supervise junior members of staff.
You will have a recognised 4 year Speech and Language Therapy degree qualification or equivalent and relevant experience working within the acute setting and in the community. Current or recent experience in working with adults with dysphagia is essential.

Regular support and supervision and opportunities to enhance skills will be provided in line with KSF.

Car availability for work purposes and a valid UK driving license is essential for this post.

Hours: 7.5 per week
