Specialist Physiotherapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time Band 6 Physiotherapist to join the St Helens Pulmonary Rehabilitation team.

The team consists of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Assistant Practitioner and Therapy Assistants who are responsible for providing Pulmonary Rehabilitation programmes and ambulatory oxygen assessments in clinic, group and domiciliary settings across St Helens. The team work closely with the COPD nurses to enable and support those people with chronic respiratory disease to manage their conditions.

Duties will include the management of a complex caseload using specialist knowledge to carry out comprehensive assessments and formulating rehabilitation plans which demonstrate effective clinical reasoning, delivery of the rehabilitation groups, supervising staff and students within the team and participating in service developments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop their existing skills and knowledge with an opportunity for further professional development.

Applicants will ideally have previous experience of working within the NHS as a Physiotherapist with a sound knowledge of rehabilitation processes and a commitment to providing high quality, evidence based care to patients. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team are essential.

The ability and willingness to travel between multiple sites in the course of performing duties is essential.

This post is subject to an enhanced check with adults barred list Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check. Successful candidates will either have a valid DBS check with the Trust or will be required to pay for the cost of the DBS Disclosure which is £47.50, the cost of which will be deducted from first salary.
