A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for an appropriately skilled Physiotherapist to take on the lead role of establishing Pulmonary Rehabilitation across the Scottish Borders.

This post is a project post linked to the Integrated Change Fund and has funding for one year. As such there is an aspect of audit experience required but this will be supported by ‘Better Borders’, our Transformation team. Although it is anticipated that this post will continue beyond the project time, secondments will be considered for those seeking project experience.

The successful candidate will be highly motivated, organised and experienced in managing patients with respiratory conditions and running groups. You will provide clinical leadership to a core team of Band 6 Physiotherapist and Respiratory Specialist Nurse, Physiotherapy Health Care Support Worker and Admin support.

The post holder will be based within Borders General Hospital and will be responsible for setting up, running & coordinating Pulmonary Rehabilitation across our region. The role includes triage, assessment of patients, supporting self-management of exacerbations, and providing both individualised and group education across a variety of related topics.

You will be required to work independently, supported by the Lead Physiotherapist for Acute Services.
