Specialist Occupational Therapist

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our service for an experienced occupational therapist to join our mental health Occupational therapy team. Our team sits within the Mental Health, psychology, Intellectual Disability and Specialist Drug and Alcohol Directorate. This post will allow us to continue to provide mental health occupational therapy assessment and interventions to the community mental health services and allow additional cover as required to the inpatient service. This will enable us to continue to make a positive difference to the lives of individuals who experience a range of complex mental health difficulties
You will have excellent communication skills, the ability to think creatively, have knowledge of service development, redesign and quality improvement work. You will have specialist knowledge in occupational therapy assessments and interventions and an ability to work safely and efficiently both as an autonomous practitioner and part of the wider multi-disciplinary teams including our key stakeholders.
This will post will focus on ensuring access to high quality, specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions as well as safe, timely and efficient discharge from hospital; providing a link between inpatient and community settings. You will have the opportunity to support and develop designated quality and service improvement projects. You will contribute to staff supervision and development and offer consultation and advice to the both Occupational therapy staff and the wider MDT.
