Do you want to develop your skills as a band 6 in a supportive, forward thinking team? If so, we have the opportunity for you! We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and innovative Occupational Therapist, with a passion for working in surgery to join us on a fixed term contract or secondment. Our team covers multiple surgical specialties and we are the regional centres for vascular, head and neck and upper gastrointestinal surgeries. This post would offer the opportunity for staff to be part of a fast paced, specialist service, providing up to date clinical expertise throughout the whole MDT, from pre-operative interventions through to enhanced recovery and discharge.
The post holder will work with in patients, completing functional assessments and signposting for discharges, and will be expected to work closely with the surgery MDT’s, including consultants and specialist nurses.
You should have clinical experience of working with complex patients and have the skills to provide assessments, deliver effective treatment plans and complete complex discharge planning. Candidates will need to possess excellent communication skills in order to provide a patient-centred service, liaise with out of locality agencies, and ensure a safe and timely discharge process.
